Effects of chilling plus garlic extract on bud dormancy release

Hydrogen cyanamide, a category I toxic substance, is currently the chief compound used in grapevines to release bud dormancy in warm climate areas. These researchers from Brazil tested an alternative protocol using garlic extract and minimal chilling and found it to be almost as effective as hydrogen cyanamide.
