Job Description: Young Inglewood Vineyards: Production Assistant, full-time position hiring Summer 2024
Ahoy there, winery polymaths! We are seeking an intelligent, motivated, and multi-skilled renaissance person to join our dynamic, tight-knit team. Young Inglewood is a small, family-owned and -operated estate winery and vineyard located on the Mayacamas benchland in Southwest St Helena, Napa Valley, where we are committed to producing hand-made wines that purely express the outstanding quality of our terroir. Our vineyard-focused winemaking approach is centered around caring for our 18 acres of CCOF Organic estate vineyard through sustainable, regenerative viticulture, and seeking precision using minimal intervention and careful technique in the winery. We grow a number of Bordeaux varieties in addition to Aligoté on our estate vineyard. We produce a little over a thousand cases annually across a diversity of bottlings, most of which find their way into the hands of guests at our elegant hospitality space on the estate.
We are seeking a Production Assistant who will work alongside our small winemaking team in all aspects of production. Because we are deeply committed to making wines through the lens of our soils and vines, working in the vineyard will be essential. Tasks will range from those requiring technical skill and precision to those that are repetitive and physically demanding. Meticulous commitment to our standards is essential.
This is a new position on our team with room for growth.
Our winery is designed to provide a safe, well-organized, and beautiful work environment. As members of a small team, we all wear a number of different hats, and we are searching for an applicant willing to do the same. This individual must be a team player and respect our environment inside and outside the winery. At times the work will require lifting heavy objects, working long hours in hot weather, and more. Applicants must be flexible, ethical, and willing to follow protocols to the letter. Concentration and focus are required. This applies to everything from executing repetitive tasks, like cleaning drains or taking inventory, to performing complex and highly skilled techniques in the cellar and vineyard.
