On Wednesday, May 24, from 2-3 pm PT, the Department of Viticulture and Enology at UC Davis presented “Office Hours with Dave and Anita, Episode 21: Why do we need new grape varieties?” Luis Diaz Garcia, assistant professor in the Department of Viticulture and Enology at UC Davis, gave a short presentation on why we need new grape varieties, what the process looks like, and what kinds of new varieties might be useful and why.

Office Hours with Dave and Anita, Episode 19: Sustainable winemaking

On Thursday, March 10th from 1-2 PM PT, the Department of Viticulture and Enology at UC Davis presented “Office Hours with Dave and Anita, Episode 19: Sustainable Winemaking,” featuring Dr. Ron Runnebaum, assistant professor in the Department of Viticulture and Enology at UC Davis and Nate Weis, Vice President of Winegrowing and Winemaker at Silver Oak Cellars. Ron discussed sustainable practices that are being worked on at UC Davis, Nate talked about the various degrees of sustainability (from first steps to new builds), and they both answered questions from attendees.
