Alex is a winemaker, consultant, and wine-technology innovator operating at the intersection of traditional production and modern digital systems. As a Product Manager at vintrace, she helps shape cloud-based software that supports traceability, planning, and operational efficiency for winemaking teams worldwide. Concurrently, through her consulting practice, Wines by Miriam, she guides clients through private label development, custom winemaking, and global sourcing strategies.

Alex’s career began at a premier Napa Valley estate, where she absorbed classic enological traditions and techniques. Driven by a vision to make these classic, high-quality wines accessible at scale, she chose to bypass the traditional, decades-long wait for a head winemaking title by partnering with Naked Wines’ "Angels" to launch her own label. Today, she is one of Naked’s top-funded winemakers, recognized for translating consumer insights into exceptional wines that perform at scale without sacrificing their artisanal craftsmanship. Her independent wines have earned widespread critical acclaim, including Best of Class, Double Gold, and Gold medals at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.

By moving fluidly between the cellar, the negotiating table, and software design, Alex brings a true practitioner's perspective to the tools and strategies shaping the future of wine. As a UC Davis Viticulture & Enology graduate, she is passionate about helping prepare the next generation of graduates for this rapidly evolving landscape. Through her involvement with the department, she aims to bridge the gap between world-class academic research and the highly digital, commercial realities of the modern cellar, ensuring students enter the industry with a holistic, 360-degree understanding of how technology, global sourcing, and production strategy intersect.

Alex lives in Napa with her husband, three-year-old son, and Goldendoodle.
