Steven Sinclair Scott Endowed Chair

Stephen Sinclair Scott Endowed Chair in Enology Department of Viticulture and Enology Agricultural and Environmental Sciences

The Stephen Sinclair Scott endowment began as a scholarship program to honor the memory of Stephen Sinclair Scott, who died at age 38, in May of 1984. In 1999, headed by patriarch Robert Scott, the family sought to change the intent of the endowment from scholarship support to an endowed chair to support a faculty position whose research involved wine processing and stability.
At the time of his death, Stephen Sinclair Scott was Sales Manager for Scott Laboratories, Inc, a major supplier of goods and services for the North American wine and juice industries. Scott joined the company founded by his father in 1975 and was a major force in pushing the company into new directions, having impact on the wine industry as a whole. He was best known for his quick wit, his expansive mind, and his love of people. 0
