Jack Neal & Son Viticultural Studies Scholarship

LogoIn 1968, Jack Neal opened a vineyard management company out of his home on Mee Lane in Rutherford with the goal to provide top quality farming and vineyard management the throughout Napa County area. In 1994, after working in his father's business since early childhood, Mark Neal became the owner and manager of Jack Neal & Son (JNS).

The company continues to position itself at the forefront of the industry by looking ahead to new tools and techniques. JNS has been an early adopter of several new technologies in multi-spectral imagery, weather analysis, and precision agriculture. It is also taking a leading role in the application of biodynamic, organic, and sustainable farming practices, and currently manages a number of properties in compliance with CCOF (California Certified Organic Farmers), Fish Friendly Farming, and other voluntary-membership, environmentally conscious organizations.

 

This scholarship is for a viticulture student with a GPA of at least 3.0 that has studied or is studying integrated pest management or new techniques in environmental conservation, with a true need for financial assistance. They desire to support a student planning to start their career in the Napa or Sonoma County regions.
