American Vineyard Magazine reaches a vast majority of grapegrowers in California, more than any other magazine of its kind. Chief Executive Officer, Daniel Joseph Malcolm, established the scholarship in the late 1990's. Malcolm's publishing empire includes: California Dairy Magazine, Pacific Nut Producer, and Vegetables West Magazine.
The scholarship is for undergraduate or graduate student in Viticulture with a GPA of 3.0 or better. Past recipients include: Cecilia Aguero, Samuel Barros, Kristin Lowe, Shannon Reis, and Corey Barnes.
