| Job Description | The Australian Wine Research Institute (AWRI) is resolute in its vision to deliver high value to the Australian wine industry through world-class research and integrated solutions. Applications are invited for a Post Doctoral Research Fellow under the supervision of Dr David Jeffery. A competitive salary commensurate with skills and experience will be negotiated. The position is offered as a one year fixed term contract. POST DOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW— WINE CHEMISTRY The successful applicant will be accountable for strategic and applied research as part of a team focussing on the chemistry of grape and wine flavour compounds. The main objectives of the role will be to synthesise reference materials and assist in identification of flavour compounds and precursors by various analytical means. Applicants will preferably have a PhD in synthetic organic chemistry and an excellent understanding of synthetic organic chemistry and compounds. Knowledge of natural products chemistry and analytical techniques such as GC-MS and HPLC-MS would be advantageous. |
