The 365 acre farm with 10 acres of vineyard features a Farmstay B&B as well as raising grass fed Angus Beef and specialize in farm to table dinners. |Job Description|| Responsibilities:|
Working under the direction of winemaker consultant, John Levenberg, to fulfill the goals of production and follow procedures that will allow Crow Vineyard & Winery to be a leading East Coast Winery.
Responsibilities include being the lead cellar worker, which involves all aspects of wine production. These duties include but are not limited to the following;
Sanitation of all equipment and facility
Topping, racking of barrels
Bottling set up and sanitation
Basic lab analysis
Monitoring of wines, free SO2 levels
Maintenance of cooperage, tanks, pumps
Inventory management of supplies
Record keeping of cellar operations
Assisting winemaker in house tastings & blending trials
An ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Helping with work in the vineyard is encouraged
Working with Vineyard Manager and consultant with harvest plans and schedule
Offering assistance in the Tasting Room and at special events
A degree in Enology or related science field with a minimum of two years of cellar experience is preferred.
Candidate must have excellent communication skills, including both written and oral. Good interpersonal skills with a proven ability to be respectful, friendly with a diversity of individuals at all levels. Possess good organoleptic senses, and a strong interest in tasting and examining wines.
