Frank Johnson Vineyard's Viticultural Research Endowment

Frank Johnson made his fortune as a founding member of Unitek, a leading manufacturer of dental goods. When the company was sold to Bristol Meyers in the late 1960's, Johnson set about to become a grower of grapes. It was in 1970 that Frank Johnson bought 55 acres of apples and prunes in the Healdsburg area and promptly began to replace them with grape vines. Johnson began to produce some of the finest Pinot noir, Zinfandel, Merlot, Syrah, Petit Sirah, Sauvignon blanc, Chardonney, and Gewurztraminer grapes in the area. Johnson's grandaughter, Naomi Brilliant runs Roshambo Winery.

This endowment is to support viticultural research.
