C.O. Foerster Jr. Scholarhsip
C.O. Foerster was a true pioneer of Texas viticulture. From 1935-1995 he hybridized grapes in search of a table grape for the area known as the Lower Rio Grande Valley; among his most outstanding cultivars are the Mother Gloyd and the Weisser. The scholarship was created by his son, Gordon Foerster, of Vitis Research & Development Corporation.
This scholarship is earmarked for a student with a major in viticulture who demonstrates financial need, with an interest in environmental studies and conservation who is of good academic standing.
