Venerated for its commitment to exploring viticulture and enology, UC Davis has a nearly 100-year history of studying wine. Construction of the new Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science, located near the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts on the northern side of campus, began last year; the center is expected to be completed by early 2008.
