Recent Advances in Viticulture and Enology, 2006
If you attended RAVE 2006, or if you know someone who did, you know the topic was "The Roots of Fine Wine". This annual event, whose focus changes each year, is held at Freeborn Hall on the U.C. Davis campus. This year we chose to highlight the research of Dr David Smart, our newest faculty member, and his colleagues, who are avidly studying the little-understood world of events happening below ground in your vineyard. This is a topic that too few of us know anything about, so we viewed Dr Smart's research as a unique opportunity to begin an in-depth conversation about what's happening in the very active and very important environment surrounding the roots in a winegrape vineyard.
We are proud to present an electronic version of the entire RAVE 2006 program, free of charge, to all Trellis Alliance members. In a format similar to a webcast, it can be viewed either in its entirety or in whatever order you, as a viewer, choose. To begin, you will be asked to choose the presentation you'd like to view and click on that title. You'll then be prompted to enter the ID and password we sent out to all members. The presentation you chose will then begin. Notice that under the video of the speaker, there is a listing of the titles of the slides in his/her presentation. You may chose to view a particular slide or to view the entire presentation in the order it was given. The same is true of the entire day's program.
The entire RAVE 2006 program is available at http://webcast.ucdavis.edu/VitEn/2006/
This video production marks a whole new direction for the Trellis Alliance's outreach efforts...a new beginning of sorts. Now we can bring valuable programs directly to your computer so they can be shared with your colleagues who are unable to attend a function. We are, as always, very grateful for your generous support of our outreach efforts through your Trellis Alliance membership. This webcast is just one of the ways we hope to maintain your support. With your continued support, we hope to become your source of information for all that's happening in the wine and winegrape and affiliated industries, from research to technical meetings to events and gatherings that will benefit you both professionally and personally. Please let us know what you think of this electronic program and how you think we can improve our outreach efforts by emailing us at http://wineserver.ucdavis.edu/content.php?category=Contact
