Job Description The Viticulture Outreach Assistant will provide exceptional program support for the Commission’s dynamic grower research and educational outreach activities, which include frequent online and print communications, monthly viticulture meetings on a range of topics, and sustainability awareness surrounding LODI RULES. This is a wonderful opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented person to kick-start a career in the wine industry with a well-known and established organization.

Essential Duties:
• Supports outreach activities, meetings, and publications related to grower research, education, marketing, and the LODI RULES Sustainable Winegrowing Program
• Frequently updates all content for the main Lodi grower website, lodigrowers.com, including guest blog solicitation/posting
• Assists with creation, design, and editing for email, physical mail, newsletter, and other communications to our 1000+ member community
• Handles event logistics, sign-in, credit facilitation, and follow-up messaging for outreach and viticulture meetings (indoor and outdoor)
• Tracks and archives Lodi winegrape-related press and grower outreach activities electronically and online
• Maintains respectful, cohesive working relationships with our winegrowing community, co-workers, industry, Committee Members, and Board Members
• Represents the Lodi Winegrape Commission in a positive, professional manner at all times
• Other duties as needed

Job Requirements:
• Degree in a related field (science, education, communications, graphic design)
• Experience in educational communications (online, print, verbal, video) and project organization
• English language proficiency with a strong ability to edit for clarity and consistency in wording and formatting
• Graphic design experience related to online and print communications (educational and/or marketing)
• Hard-working, independent thinker with the ability to prioritize and follow directions closely
• Basic understanding of viticulture and able to understand scientifically technical information
• Superb attention to details, especially in terms of written communications and program management
• Efficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Social media experience: Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram
• Basic photography and videography skills
• Ability to deal effectively and respectfully with a variety of personality types
• Professional, mature, responsible, and possessing an enthusiastic attitude
• Must possess a valid license to drive in the state of CA

Preferred Skills:
• Efficiency in Microsoft Publisher and Outlook, WordPress, Vertical Response, MailChimp, Adobe InDesign, and advanced photo editing on a computer

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to understand and accurately follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to work outdoors under conditions of cold, heat, dust, and wind
• Ability to use fine finger movements with manual dexterity

Schedule: Full time, non-exempt, must be flexible as weekly hours vary depending on event/project schedule and may include early mornings and late evenings

Compensation: Salary + benefits, plus a wine discount
