|Job Description|| Joseph Phelps Vineyards is looking for enthusiastic, detail oriented cellar interns for the 2018 harvest. We typically begin in August and end in late November. We will consider candidates that have worked at least one harvest. This position is in St. Helena.|
Candidates must have strong communication skills, be motivated, able to multi-task, have experience working with pumps, able to work long hours and odd shifts, experience and proficiency driving a forklift, and have a valid driver’s license and clean DMV record.
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED equivalent required AND at least 1 harvest position or previous cellar work.
Job Duties to include but will not be limited to:
Grape processing, operation of crush equipment and presses; conducting pump overs and punch downs; assisting with additions to juice and wine; performing sanitation procedures; draining and pressing tanks, including shoveling pomace; racking barrels; filling barrels; transferring wine; forklift operation.
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, pull 100 pounds at least twenty feet, stand for prolonged periods of time, climb ladders and stairs, stoop, bend, lift overhead, and kneel. Required to roll, move, and/or lift 60 gallon wine barrels when needed.
MUST BE ABLE TO STAY FOR THE ENTIRE HARVEST DURATION (August 13th through November)!
We do not provide housing or transportation but can help with both. Pay range is $16-$17 per hour, 40-hour work weeks until grapes start coming in then at least 48 hour work weeks. We voluntarily participate in eVerify to validate legal work authorization.

We use CAEP (California Agriculture Exchange Program) to make sure all foreign interns have the proper documentation and can legally work in the US. We ask that you use them should you be considered a candidate.
