Company Description Turkovich Family Wines is a small family own winery, located in the western Yolo County (20-30 min from Davis CA). With 20 acres of estate vineyards and more the 23 different blends, including red wines, white wines, port style wine and sparking wine.

Job Description SUMMARY: The enologist will with the winemaker to coordinate and review the activities involved in the daily cellar, lab and bottling operations in order to meet production requirements and schedules. This position will be responsible for maintaining the quality of the all inventory and lab and at all times will maintain the integrity and quality of the product while adhering to Turkovich wine’s philosophy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and supervise all cellar work to ensure all SOP’s are being followed and safety guidelines are upheld

Wine and aging procedures
- Coordinate and calculate cellar additions
- Monitor and control fermentations (primary and secondary) by sensory and data analysis
- Coordinate the calculation and completion of additions
- Perform regular sensory analysis of wines
- Perform bench trials
- Perform cellar work as needed.

Cellar Work
- Forklift and organize barrels
- Racking, topping, blending wines
- Tank and Barrel sanitation
- General winery maintenance

Bottling functions
- Prepare wines for bottling, including blending, stabilization, fining and filtration
- Ensure wine quality going into bottle
- Troubleshoot bottling problems
- Organize and maintain bottling records

Record keeping
- On a daily basis, maintain wine inventory, and prepare end of month reports
- Maintain cellar, lab, and bottling information
- Maintain safety and training manuals

• Other:
- Work with the winemaker to develop and implement clear procedures, QC guidelines, bottling line procedures, and training plans

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum 3 yrs. experience in wine production
• Good computer skills Excel and Word
• Good written communication skills
• Team player
• Bi-lingual, Spanish/English desirable


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
• Ability to drive
• Ability to pull, push, kneel, bend, reach

Hourly wage plus OT during harvest (Salary DOE)
