Job Description Join the Stonestreet Estate Vineyards Winemaking Team for the 2017 harvest! We source our fruit from world-class estate vineyards to bring into our advanced Alexander Valley winery to produce primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc. Under the general direction of the Winemaking team at Stonestreet, this position is responsible for the following duties, including but not limited to: collecting grape berry samples from our Alexander Valley Vineyards then using a berry monitoring system at the winery to analyze data for harvest. Additional responsibilities include analysis of juice and wine, monitoring fermentations and record-keeping.

Under the general direction of the Winemaking team at Stonestreet, the harvest interns are responsible for the following duties, including but not limited to:

Collecting grape samples from vineyards

Delivering samples to winery and using a monitoring system to analyze viticultural data

Analysis of juice and wine

Monitoring fermentations

Cleaning, sanitizing, and sterilizing all winery equipment and facility

Racking and pumping of juice and wine

Moving hoses and equipment

Making chemical additions to juice and wine

Filling, topping, and racking barrels

Obtaining lab samples

Fining and filtering juice and wine

Operating crusher, presses, and lees filter

Following and observing all safe cellar practices

Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

We are looking for someone who enjoys the winemaking process and can work in a fast-paced environment.

Background and Experience:

Prior winery and vineyard experience and/or education in related field preferred. Must have ability to communicate effectively with good skills in reading, writing, and basic math. Microsoft Excel and analytical skills preferred. Must be able to work safely around equipment, electrical outlets, and chemicals. Individuals selected for this position must be reliable, detail-oriented, and have good work ethic. Must be able to work varying shifts, weekends and overtime as needed particularly during the harvest season. Must be able to provide proof of ability to work in the United States and valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands:

This position requires the ability to reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, and regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
