|Job Description|| Franciscan Estate Winery is seeking two harvest Winemaking Interns, each with a Viticulture and/or Enology degree. Has completed at least one harvest in red winemaking Cellar and who is looking for an oppoertunity to gain more experience in the wine industry.|
This position works directly with the Winemaking Team and will be an integral winemaking support position, helping to facilitate daily harvest winemaking responsibilities. This position does not require Cellar or Lab work, however interns will work daily with members of the Cellar and Lab to achieve daily responsibilities.
Duties may include: Harvest work order generation and distribution. Assist with daily fermentation monitoring including tank temperatures, cap inspection and management. Verification and tracking of daily grape receiving; assist in managing and monitoring winemaking trials, review of lab analysis and assist winemakers and Lab Manager as needed.
Qualification: Must be able to work mid-August through the end of November. Must be pursing, or have completed Enology and/or Viticulture degree. Previous harvest experience in winery production and must be at least 21 years of age. Computer skills required include MS Word and Excel skills along with excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work various shifts including weekends and overtime.
