Job Description Assistant Viticulturist

Works with SFC Viticulturists to develop and implement viticulture plans according to quality and budgetary goals. Expect up to 60 hours per week April through November, December-March 40 hours per week.

Specific duties will include but not be limited to:

• Scouting vineyards for pest and disease levels
• Collecting field and winery data
• Regular vineyard work by hand such as pruning, tying, training, suckering, leafing, thinning, irrigating, harvesting and planting
• Monitoring soil and vine water status and irrigation scheduling
• Monitoring vine nutrient status and fertilizing

• Interest in viticulture and winemaking
• Degree in viticulture or related field or comparable work experience
• Ability to take direction, work harmoniously with co-workers, clients and vendor
• Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Application
• Willing and capable of manual labor outdoors in all types of weather
• Must have valid California Driver’s License, be insurable by the company and be able to operate a motor vehicle safely
• Bilingual English and Spanish is preferred
