Company Description Joel Gott Wines is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated harvest lab intern for the 2017 season to assist our winemaking team in all aspects of wine and grape analysis. This position will run from August with potential for work through December. Joel Gott Wines focuses on quality, value wines by shopping the entire state for the best fruit, creating wines shaped by various regions instead of a single estate. We have vineyards as far south as Santa Rita and as far north as Mendocino.

Job Description Responsibilities include:
•Processing and analyzing grape, juice, and wine samples
•Preparing vineyard samples for tasting
•Collecting tank samples
•Performing basic wine analysis: Brix, pH, TA, nutritional analysis
•Data entry, monitoring and interpreting analytical results accurately and efficiently
•Requesting/recording analysis from professional laboratories
•Setting up laboratory trials and tastings
•Transporting supplies and samples between facilities as needed
•Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Other Information Qualifications:
•B.S. in Viticulture & Enology or similar Science field (or in the process of obtaining a degree)
•Previous lab/harvest experience, familiarity and experience with winemaking practices
•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
•Good observation and analytical skills, proficient in MS Excel
•Good interpersonal skills, proven ability to work well with other employees
•Ability to follow instructions and take direction
•Valid California driver’s license and clean DMV report
