Job Description Delicato Family Vineyards has an exciting immediate career opportunity for a Vineyard Maintenance Supervisor in our King City, CA location.

Position Purpose:

Under minimal supervision and acting on own initiative the Maintenance Supervisor assists with the maintenance and repair of all equipment assigned to the Central Coast area. This position is required to plan and assign the work to employees; for tractors, vineyard implements, grape harvesters, ATV's, RTV's plus pickups, large trucks, trailers, irrigation systems, mechanical equipment and other systems in Vineyard/Winery facility or for a group of buildings while reviewing work performance and results, ensuring conformance with established methods, policies, and procedures.

Functional Responsibility:

Equivalent with the knowledge skills and abilities set forth below; the Maintenance Supervisor is required to perform the following duties:
•Provides leadership and personal support; coaches, guides, nurtures, and develops the right people; leads by example
•Drives company focus, manages culture, encourages strong work ethic, and fosters an environment of trust and respect
•Develops individual performance plans in alignment with company goals and objectives; communicates clearly defined objectives; maintains level of productivity in unit
•Trains employees to do their job; set standards for work performance
•Monitors performance and provides feedback to direct reports through formal quarterly and annual reviews; regularly communicates with staff to achieve mutual understanding and desired results
•Recognizes and addresses performance strengths and limitations of staff
•Manages employee attendance to ensure compliance with company standards; approves/monitors overtime
•Communicates and supports company policies and decisions in a positive manner
•Handles employee issues, concerns, and complaints in an objective and confidential manner
•Provides employees with a safe, comfortable, and rewarding work environment
•Assists in the preparation and maintenance of department budget

Essential Duties:
•Supervises shift or team of maintenance technicians, spending approximately 70% of time on the floor or in the field; assisting, monitoring, coaching, and following up on completed work to ensure it was performed at a high standard
•Provides hands-on support, assigns daily tasks and communicates changes to the team, assigns and monitors the work order system utilizing MP2, tracking work orders, and compiling reports for the management team
•Plans and schedules maintenance projects including scheduling of proper personnel (employees & contractors), maintaining project budget, ensuring access to machine manuals, ensuring necessary parts are in inventory, and working with the production and operation teams to schedule time for completion of the project
•Actively trains technicians in duties including but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines, ensuring completed work is entered into CMMS (computer maintenance management system)
•Maintains open lines of communication with manager on performance issues, procedures, and policies to insure overall consistency; interacts with other supervisors and team members/stakeholders to insure maximum utilization of resources
•Sets the example by following all safety rules and practices; ensures employees use proper protective equipment and have a safe work environment, collaborates with other stakeholders as it relates to tools/equipment, training, work environment, identifying potential issues or other related safety items, as well as being accountable for ensuring maintenance personnel follow the same safety rules and practices
•Participates in continuous improvement opportunities and initiatives within and beyond the maintenance function by measuring activities, entering data, and ensuring the accuracy of the data
•Performs other duties as assigned by immediate manager or other facility leaders

Non-Essential Duties:
•Summarize daily reports into monthly data
•Prepares and leads maintenance priority meetings, safety and production leadership teams, environmental health & safety initiatives in the facility, including but not limited to: air permitting, storm water compliance, HAZMAT, waste water compliance, roof maintenance, DOT inspections, compressed air management, fire & safety system inspections, contractor training, employee training, electrical and hot work
•Inspects vehicles, equipment, buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair making notes and recommendations using a pre?established check sheet
•Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools
•Supervises contractors and other departments activities such as; painting, carpentry and masonry work (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.), various structures and equipment (e.g. walls, refrigerators, evaporative coolers, floors, roofs, doors, restroom facilities, etc.) to maintain a safe, comfortable working environment

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience
•AA/AS degree in mechanical, electrical, or AG mechanics and basic refrigeration and electrical a plus or equivalent experience; At least 5-7 years mechanical experience as Ag mechanic / Industrial Maintenance technician and 2-3 years supervisory experience
•Requires intermediate set of tools to perform service and repair functions

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•Knowledge of principles of effective supervision: performance management, counseling of staff, motivation and training of employees, preparation of documentation, recommendation and implementation of disciplinary measures as needed.
•Knowledge of principles and techniques of repair and maintenance of gas, diesel, alternative fuel, heavy and light vehicles and construction and special equipment.
•Knowledge of computers and software platforms; CMMS, Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.
•Possesses ability to analyze test results, machine error messages, blueprints, repair manuals, parts catalogs, and information obtained from operators to understand, diagnose and correct equipment problems
•Possesses solid troubleshooting and predictive maintenance skillset
•Ability to determine specifications associated with equipment parts, installation, repair and replacement
•Ability to specify bearings, belts, chains, gears, coupling, drives, and select and apply gaskets, seals, sealants, lubrications and oils
•Ability to diagnose problems and determine best method to correct them balancing; cost, timeliness, and quality

Certificates and Licenses:
•Valid driver’s license and vehicle required with an acceptable driving record

Working Conditions:
•Constant exposure to the elements and temperature variation working both indoors, outdoors and at heights up to 45 feet.
•Some work areas require ear and eye protection.
•Exposure to standard maintenance material including batteries, lubricating fluids, paints, solvents, etc.
•This position is on a rotating shift schedule
•Overtime as needed to support business needs
