Company Description Matchbook Wine Company is a family-owned operation in the Dunnigan Hills of Zamora, CA, producing and bottling quality wines on-site under such labels as: Matchbook, The Arsonist, Mossback, and Chasing Venus. Thirty minutes from Davis, the winery is located in the midst of 1,300 acres of estate vineyards, comprised of Chardonnay, Tempranillo, Syrah, and several other varietals. We expect to bottle 150,000 cases in 2017, and we expect to crush about 2700 tons in 2017 (approximately 30% white, 70% red). The majority of our grapes come from our estate vineyards, but we also source fruit from the Russian River Valley and Chalk Hill.

Job Description We are looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented individual to assist in bottling line quality control and lab work, starting in March. Responsibilities include quality control checks on the bottling line: labels, corks, capsules, etc. You will work closely with the Laboratory Director and bottling line operators to ensure all points on the bottling line are functioning properly and efficiently on all bottling days. Days with no bottling, responsibilities include pulling samples and some lab work.

This position extends over harvest, during which we will not bottle. During harvest, other lab responsibilities may include monitoring fermentations, inoculations, and cellar work. During harvest months, you must have the ability and willingness to work 6 days a week, including weekends, and overtime. In addition, you must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time, climb stairs and ladders, lift 50 pounds, and be on your feet for most of the day. Reliable transportation is required.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:
•Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
•Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
•Basic computer skills
