|Company Description|| Located just outside of Kansas City, Missouri, Fence Stile is a 1,200 case facility with 6 producing acres (and 4 additional acres planted in 2016). The vineyards & winery are situated on 65 acres in Excelsior Springs, MO.|
Fence Stile Vineyards & Winery is part of one of the ten designated wine trails in the state. The varietals in current production are Chambourcin, Vidal Blanc, Vignoles, Seyval & Concord. By 2019, Cabernet Dore and Crimson Cab will be in production. The current winery is a new facility built in 2015 with an on-site lab, manmade wine caves, a tasting room and event space. The winery participates in wine festivals, trolley tours and local community events and has as an active wine club.

|Job Description|| The role of the winemaker at Fence Stile Vineyards and Winery is broader than making wine. The role encompasses all aspects of the wine experience from the vineyards to the tasting room guest experience. The wine maker will be responsible for all aspects of the wine production process and the work will vary from routine lab and winery work to critical harvest duties and participation in wine festivals and special events. The winemaker will work with the vineyard manager and tasting room team to ensure the vineyards are well kept, the wine produced is of a high quality and the guests have a memorable experience worth telling others about. Creative problem solving, innovation, collaboration and exploration are encouraged and supported with communication and coordination being the corner stone of growing the Fence Stile brand and experience.|
Winemaking duties will encompass the majority of the role (approximately 70%) and include the full process from crush to bottling including lab work, quality control and record keeping.
The winemaker will also have opportunities to collaborate with the vineyard manager including harvest preparation and field checks. From time to time, the winemaker will have the opportunity to help with events, tours, classes and guest interaction in the tasting room.
